In mid-2025, Brand Architects and DesignInc delivered a new primary school and a three‑room council‑run kindergarten in one of Melbourne’s fast‑growing outer suburbs. The kindergarten sits close to the school to support easy drop‑offs and a smooth transition for young learners. The school is one of five delivered through the New Schools 2025 Bundle A program.
Five key design principles shaped the campus, guiding the placement of buildings, outdoor areas, and landscape features to create a unified environment. The site includes three Learning Neighbourhoods, an Administration and Resources building, and a Community Hub, along with the kinder. Each features its own architectural identity, First Nations wayfinding graphics, and Woiwurrung name.
The design emphasises strong indoor‑outdoor connections, access to nature, and recognition of First Nations culture. Large entrance artworks welcome students, families, and visitors into the campus.
Sustainability was a major priority for the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), with features such as improved thermal performance, upgraded glazing, Energy Recovery Ventilators and abundant natural daylight. Students also have access to a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces to aid in regulation and withdrawal for their wellbeing.
The project builds on insights from previous school programs to deliver a resilient, flexible, and future‑ready learning environment for a rapidly growing community.
