Brand Architects have delivered a new Sports Pavilion in Herne Hill for the City of Greater Geelong. The striking and strong design is a response to the site’s sense of place.

Herne Hill Reserve has a mix of active uses by the Geelong community including football, cricket and netball use and it serves as the home ground for St Joseph’s Football and Netball Club and St Peter’s Cricket Club.

This new club and community building consolidates the existing football and cricket club pavilions into one multi-use pavilion, providing facilities and areas that align with AFL, Cricket and Netball community facility guidelines.

The building achieves a “Best Practice” BESS Rating and incorporates many environmental design principles such as a 20kV photovoltaic system with battery, high-performance glazing, energy efficient services, harvested rainwater and reuse, water efficient fittings and appliances, use of sustainable materials and other initiatives.
