The Gladstone Park Secondary College VCE Centre is the newest addition to the campus, fulfilling the school’s need to relocate its existing facilities to accommodate a rising student population. This relocation process also opens up the opportunity to convert the existing centre into much-needed classrooms.

Opening up views to the adjacent football oval and in reaction to the harsh Western sun, the serrated façade offers an animated backdrop that houses the new Careers and VCE centre. Designed with a collaborative focus, the building brings together an expanded study centre that can now be supported by a supportive network of co-ordinators and administrative offices.

The relocation of existing lockers have provided Brand Architects an opportunity to design an otherwise utilitarian area into a contemplative pavilion space, providing a canopied internal courtyard that creates a climate for collaborative learning, and an extension of the neighbouring sports oval.
