This new building provided state of the art facilities for an institute dedicated to challenging industry practices and taking on a leadership role for the foods, tourism and hospitality industries. This project involved extending the existing central library and forming new departments for international students, tourism, student services and human resources.

The existing adjacent building was upgraded to closely relate to the new building.  The total complex forms a new unifying image for the Institute from the La Trobe Street frontage, while forming a major link between the La Trobe Street complex and the Institute’s building on the corner of King Street.
